Nokia Lumia 800 gets its first software update; improved audio, voicemail notification and display on cards
Nokia is in full swing. After creating a stir with the launch of its first windows phone 7, the Finnish giant is not leaving any stone unturned to further capitalize on the growing popularity of Lumia 800. The company has released a software update for Lumia 800. Dubbed 1600.2479.7740.11451, the latest software release brings the following performance and usability enhancements to the smartphone:
Charging improvements (no more battery drain issue)
Voicemail notification improvement
Replying to mail improved for Microsoft Exchange 2003 users
Improved display switching in bright light
Improved audio quality

According to conversations.nokia, the roll out will take place in a phased manner over the course of next two weeks in countries where the smartphone is available. Lumia 800 users can download the software through Microsoft Zune. There is also news of another update for the ‘mobile of the year’ in early 2012.
Packing a great design that appeals to everybody from – geeks to fashionistas’ (and everybody in between), along with a competitive pricing, Nokia with Lumia 800 has hit the right chord with the masses again.
Recentlt launched in India Nokia Lumia 800 is now up for pre-order at priority nokia service centers across the country. According to the Nokia Lumia 800 Review, the device packs under the hood a powerful 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Not to mention the impressive 8-megapixel primary camera and a Carl Zeiss optics lens for clear images.
There is also a front-facing camera, a must have feature along with NFC support which nokia has been big on ( see the Symbian 701, 700 etc ). Equipped with a clear black 3.7-inch impressive touchscreen display, supporting 480 x 800 pixels resolution, the smartphone resembles the Nokia N9 in it design. Overall it is quite a strong contender and in CEO Stephon Elop’s words – “first real Windows phone”.
