Alright, we know that playing with the Firefox 4 beta has been a full-time job for you Mozilla fanboys and girls out there, but let’s try something fresh on for size, shall we? Firefox Home has finally been whisked into the App Store on news that Apple gave it the green light, meaning you can now sync your bookmarks and open tabs between your desktop and your phone. Some of us can.

Reverse Lookup For Cell Phone Numbers

By GULLIVER | On Thursday, July 15th, 2010 - No Comments »

I left for office early morning and forgot to take my cell phone along. Of course it was a very tough day at office without the phone but I was too busy to come back home. So I decided that I will revert to the missed calls once I reach back home. But after I reached back home, I noticed some missed calls from unknown numbers. I was not sure about the caller and got confused if I shall call.

Paddy Power: Odds are that Apple will recall the iPhone 4 because of antenna problem

By L.K. | On Thursday, July 15th, 2010 - No Comments »

Are you the gambling type? Paddy Power, the famous, Ireland-based bookmaker, now has it at 4/6 that Apple will recall the iPhone 4. (The opposite, that Apple won’t recall the iPhone 4, is at 11/10.) That’s as of 8:00am ET, at least. Now, will Apple actually do the unthinkable and recall the device? I would be shocked if that happened, to be honest. A more likely scenario would be that.

Nope, iOS 4.1 doesn’t fix the iPhone 4’s death grip antenna issue.

And now, to answer the question that’s on everyone’s mind: Does  the just released iOS 4.1 update fix the iPhone 4’s death grip issue — or at least appear to? No, no it does not. At least in our testing of iOS 4.1 in its current state (intended primarily for developers to use to ensure their apps don’t break), the phone appears to drop signal just as easily as it did on OS 4.0..

Modu, world’s lightest cellphone, lands in UK

By L.K. | On Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 - No Comments »

Another day, another… oh wait, what’s this? The Modu phone has been an enigmatic  figure  in the mobile world, treading the precipice of vaporware for a while before finally launching  in its home market of Israel last year and in a few more places around the world since then. Aiming to shake up the apparently stale mobile market, this minimalist take on the phone is no larger.

Droid 2 shows up in Verizon Summer catalog

By L.K. | On Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 - No Comments »

A catalog from Verizon, detailing their Summer lineup of handsets and services, has been leaked and scanned. What’s in it? A number of things. The most exciting of which has to be the Kin One and Two listed right there under smartphones. From these we can deduce that this catalog is slightly out of date. Seriously, though, the big find is the Droid 2, which we have already seen around,.

Android 2.1 and 2.2 (Froyo) hacked onto the HTC HD2

By L.K. | On Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 - No Comments »

Four months ago, T-Mobile released the Windows Mobile 6.5-powered HTC HD2 in the US — and four months ago, the battle to jam Android onto it began. The endeavour has sort of chugged along so far — but it just took a massive leap forward. In the past few nights alone, the never-sleeping hacking community over at XDA-Dev managed to get not one, but two builds of Android working on the.

Windows Phone 7 developer tools go beta

By L.K. | On Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 - No Comments »

Just a quick PSA for the development-minded folks in the audience: following up on the “tech preview” release of the Windows Phone 7 development tools back in March, Microsoft has just pushed things into Beta mode. So, what does that mean? To most people, not a whole lot. To developers, it means it’s time to start developing WP7 games and apps without having to worry quite as much.

T-Mobile webConnect Rocket 2.0 leaks out, brings along Mac support and microSDHC slot

By L.K. | On Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 - No Comments »

T-Mobile’s webConnect Rocket has only been delivering “4G speeds” to users in search of mobile internet for a handful of months now, but already the company looks to have a successor on deck. If a pair of leaked slides are to be believed, the webConnect Rocket 2.0 is mildly overhauled version of the original USB WWAN modem, capable of delivering HSPA+ speeds on both PC.

When most people are 16, the extent of their programming knowledge — if there’s any to be spoken of — is pretty much limited to using conditional loops to print an endless stream of obscenities to the screen. These guys, however, are using their programming know-how to jetset around the world, rock competitions, and take home hardware unavailable to just about anyone else in the world. Meet.
